“Regionals”

Regionals, or anti-regionals, due to there geographical groupings or in this case, lack thereof are approaching quick. As a qualifier to NCAA Semifinals, these Saturday meets are important. Teams hoping to make nationals hope to hit at the right time in order to advance to the semifinals. How regionals works is, the top 36 teams based on their RQS (see here for explanation of”RQS”) are seeded in to one of 6 regionals *individuals can also qualify to regionals and therefore, nationals). The higher ranked team you are, the easier your regional (example: #1 seed is put against #13 seed, #2 against #11 and so on). The top two teams from each regional advance to one of two of the NCAA Semifinals. Each semifinal consists of 6 teams meaning a total of 12 teams qualifies to nationals. The top 3 teams from each semifinal then head to the Super Six where a national champion is crowned. The regional seedings and locations for this year are as follows:
