British gymnast and 2016 Olympian, Ruby Harrold announced her retirement from elite gymnastics just last week.
The gymnast wrote, “So my time as an Elite Gymnast has come to an end”.
She then went on to mark some highlights of her elite career.
Ruby is looking forward to starting a new chapter of her life, competing in college gymnastics at LSU.
Harrold missed the 2012 Olympics, but was a member of the 2014 and 2016 European Championship as well as the 2015 World Championship Team that won GB’s first ever team medal in a gymnastics world championships.
Also, many of you have asked me if I have any updates on Chris Brooks after the Olympic all around final (there wasn’t much buzz around him). Well, I don’t know much, but I do know that he says that he is planning on sticking around for a some more time (he is not retiring yet) but most likely just as a parallel bars and high bar specialist. 🙂
