MY RIO TEAM PREDICTION

The U.S. men have recently announced their olympic team and it sure is a strong one (Chris Brooks, Alex Naddour, Sam Mikulak, John Orozco, and Jake Dalton). However, the women will not announce their team until July 10th. I have made a prediction on who will make the team that I think is very reasonable. Here it is:

Simone Biles
Alexandra Raisman
Lauren Hernandez
Gabrielle Douglas
Ashton Locklear

Alternates:
Ragan Smith
Mykayla Skinner
Maggie Nichols

Non-Travelling Alternates:
Alyssa Baumann
Rachel Gowey

Here is what I think that this team would look like in a 3 up 3 count type of team final format:

Vault:
Laurie Hernandez*
Aly Raisman
Simone Biles

Bars:
Laurie Herndandez
Gabby Douglas
Ashton Locklear

Beam:
Aly Raisman
Laurie Hernandez
Simone Biles

Floor:
Laurie Hernandez
Aly Raisman
Simone Biles

*Gabby could be used in this spot too.

The alternates could also be helpful and here is why.
If someone strong on floor or vault got injured like Aly Raisman or Simone Biles, Mykayla Skinner could go in and do a strong vault or floor routine and possibly even beam. Maggie Nichols could take Gabby’s spot and do Bars or Vault (or maybe floor depending on her knee). Lastly, Ragan could do a very strong Beam or Floor routine and she’s also very consistent on Bars and Vault too so she could take that spot. Even the non-travelling alternates like Rachel Gowey and Alyssa Baumann could help on all around (other than Alyssa’s bars). So yeah, there you have my olympic team prediction. Thanks for reading and stay tuned for more! 🙂
