Road to Rio: 2016 Men’s Olympic Team is Announced

China and Japan may have more talent. China, Japan, and Britain may have more banners, medals, trophies, but no team has the heart, desire, perseverance, or sportsmanship as the U.S. team that’s going to Rio.

After a night filled with emotion, ups and downs, tears and smiles, the ever so determined men to go for the gold in  Rio have been announced. And trust me, it’s a strong team. With the only spot that I’m questioning is that of the man who can fill the final pommel horse slot. Alex Naddour, Chris Brooks, Sam Mikulak, Jacob Dalton, and John Orozco.  The joy you could see when this team was announced just made your heart sing. And of course, as we all know, the announcement of the team is either a dream maker or a dream breaker. We saw the dreams of 13 young men tear apart as they listened eagerly for their name, and it was not called. Although they can feel happy for their teammates that have made it, it is never the same when you’re not the one wearing that team USA symbol on the side of your arm. Here is what it would look like for the olympic team in a team final scenario (in my opinion):

*Alex Naddour could also be used in this spot.

This would be a pretty strong team competition for the U.S. and they could potentially medal with this lineup. Thanks for reading and stay tuned for more! 🙂

Oh yeah, and the women’s team will be announced on July 10th in San Jose, California (in case you were wondering). 😉
